Accommodation (apartment): Rs 6,000-20,000

Transportation: Rs 0-500

Food: Rs 150-500(per person)

Groceries: Rs 2,000-5,000

Utilities: Rs. 1,500- 3,500

Entertainment: Rs. 1,150- 3,400 

Miscellaneous: Rs. 2,000-4,000 

Therefore, the cost of living in Dehradun is lesser that Delhi, hence it attracts a lot of people. 

Living  conditions: Dehradun is India's fastest growing city hence its living conditions have been becoming better every year. Over all, everyone is friendly with each other and they trust each other a lot. A concerning fact about Dehradun is its water scarcity which has increased with the increase in tourism.

 The living conditions vary from area to area and type of housing.  Apartments are economical and are preferred by students and working professionals. Some slums are also present which are alarming for their unhygienic conditions.

My Personal Analysis

 I have been visiting Dehradun for as long as I can remember and consider it to be a home away from home. Besides, my grandparents have a house in Dehradun which would be our vacation house to escape from the summers of Delhi. Other than that, my grandmother was born in Dehradun and I always hear about her stories about being a young girl in Dehradun. She was actually born in the Forest Research Institute(FRI) as her father was a bamboo scientist. Hence, visiting FRI every time we are in Dehradun is very important for my family as we learn about new stories from my grandmother and her siblings.  For me, Dehradun will always remind me of nostalgic thoughts and my family.
